B-15C has arrived from Buzz Rickson's.

type B-15C(MOD.) Air Force Blue ”B.Rickson & Sons,Inc.”

After World war II,  there were big changes in air mechanic operations due to the

jet airplanes came to the forefront.

Flight jackets were not an exception of these changes.

One of these change was hard helmets were introduced to protect the heads of pilots from the vibration of air frames.

As the head gear became bigger, the collars of flight jackets became an encumbrance to the head gear.

To solve the problem, the collar of B-15 was improved and "Modified model" was produced.

The mouton collar was taken off and a wool rib knit collar was placed instead.

In my opinion, B-15 is more sophisticated than MA-1 to put over anytime.

It's made of wild horse leather varnished with wax.

As you keep wearing, it's going to be fit with to your body.

A-1 was a flight jacket for summer, which was established in 1927 and produced

until 1931 when A-2 was adopted.

It was designed before zippers were put into practical use, so buttons were used in the front.

A-1 was mainly made of sheep skin at that time.

There are only few real ones remaining now, so this jacket has so many mysteries.

A-1 is going to arrive from The REAL McCOY'S as well.

You might be able to compare these two if you are lucky.
